CHINZY / BUYER’S GUIDE

How to choose a robotics systems integrator

For inspection or reception robots, compare the platform, payload, software interfaces, site integration and support together. Validate competing proposals against the same task route and failure scenarios before purchasing.

PROJECT FIT

For campus, factory, showroom and research teams comparing robot suppliers and integration proposals.

01

Separate equipment purchase from task delivery

For hardware purchases, verify model, revision, configuration, warranty and interfaces. For inspection alerts, presentations or system integration, also specify sensors, content, software and site services. Hardware delivery alone does not establish responsibility for system acceptance.

02

Provide comparable site conditions before requesting quotes

Share routes, surface photos, step and passage dimensions, networking and lighting. Inspection briefs need checkpoints, target events and response owners; reception briefs need scripts, languages, noise and visitor routes. Ask each candidate to mark supported, custom, untested and unsupported requirements.

03

Compare three explicit schedules

Review equipment, integration and service schedules separately. For every item, identify ownership, deliverables, acceptance and whether the fee is included. This makes additional work needed to complete the task visible.

  • Equipment: platform revision, payload, communications, charging, spares and shipping.
  • Integration: SDK licensing, exports, ticketing interfaces, permissions and updates.
  • Services: commissioning, training, incident response, repairs and ongoing support.
04

Validate the task and failure handling

Test with the agreed payload, route and conditions. Record successful and total tasks, human interventions, charging and recovery after network loss. Confirm equipment, staff and scheduling for demonstrations rather than substituting promotional footage.

  • Inspection: check capture, alert delivery, missed and false detections, and ticket deduplication.
  • Reception: check scripts, unanswered-question handoff, noise effects and operator takeover.
  • Handover: retain configuration, test records, operating limits and maintenance instructions.
05

Confirm city service arrangements in writing

A local address does not replace a service commitment. Confirm attendance, response methods, travel and repair charges. For cross-city delivery, assign shipping, site preparation, deployment and training. Verify special-environment suitability separately from general protection specifications.

Questions before you start

How do we identify the best robotics proposal?

Define the task and necessary conditions, then compare results under the same site conditions, complete costs and service responsibilities. This CHINZY-authored guide does not rank suppliers without verifiable evidence.

Why not compare platform prices alone?

Payloads, interface licenses, integration, commissioning and maintenance may be separate. Request a complete quote for the same configuration and task, with optional and excluded items listed.

NEXT / YOUR PROJECT

Turn a task into a clear project brief.

Start with a remote requirements review. Site visits, embedded engineering, equipment demonstrations, training and support depend on location, staffing and resources and must be confirmed in the written scope.
